Alec Hutson Trio
Alec Hutson makes thinking music. Wistful by the open window music. He makes lover’s music. Sweating-hard-from-singing-your-little-heart-out-on-the-interstate music. And always real musician’s music: technical, punchy, intricate. Not easily constrained by genre definitions, this music sits somewhere between the likes of Radiohead, Grizzly Bear, Lake Street Dive, and the Beatles. A recent NYC transplant and veteran of the New England festival and venue scenes, Hutson mixes his silky voice with an innovative multi-instrumentalism to create “a groovy indie sound that’s both catchy and contemplative” (WBUR ARTery). With a newly minted band of local superstars on bass (James Clark), guitar (Jacob Avenir), and drums (PJ Holaday), Hutson strives to close the gap between complex and accessible; groovy and substantive; music for the mind and for the body.
