Ammar Farooki is a Pakistani born artist living in Brooklyn, New York.
He is a singer-songwriter who weaves personal stories of love, loss and the various shades in between. His music is grounded in rock n roll, but entwined deeply in the philosophy and poetry of Eastern giants like Baba Bulleh Shah and Rumi.
He turned away from a decade-long career in marketing and moved to NYC on an artist visa. He has been playing shows at celebrated indie music venues across the city and is presently working on his second full-length album, slated for release later this year.
Ammar cites singer-songwriters such as Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Bruce Springsteen, Eddie Vedder, Tom Waits, Jeff Buckley, and many others of ilk as his chief influences, all the while bringing his personal insights and experiences to make rock music that is uniquely his.
