Ana Schon
Raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, singer-songwriter-producer Ana Schon thrives in multiplicity. She was born in 2002 into a musical family, and has found herself in relation to music her whole life. Schon has achieved wide recognition as half of the duo Borneo, with guitarist Mateo Monk, which draws upon their experiences and influences as Argentine artists. Her solo project of original songs in Spanish and English blurs genre lines, with influences from alternative pop and rock, and electronic elements.
Currently based in Boston, MA (US), Schon has made room for herself in the local music scene, playing regular shows with her backing band The Reunion at concert halls like the Lilypad, and in the DIY circuit. She has also been able to connect with legends of Latin American music like Los Amigos Invisibles, whose concert at Brighton Music Hall she opened in April, and more recently with Julieta Venegas, whose performance at the Boch Center she supported in early June.
Ana is gearing up for the release of her first album, “Portrato”. The tracks that make up the 9 on the album bring as much energy as they do introspection hand in hand with lyrics that explore the key experiences of the years between adolescence and adulthood.
