Andrew R. Butler's lyric-driven folk and Americana tunes span whimsy and heartbreak, conjuring apocalypse and revolution, lovers and fools, doubt and delight. Butler's music-theater background infuses his performances with character and story-- transporting you from the gale winds of a Florida hurricane to the desolate expanse of the Martian desert to hear from humans real and imagined, teetering on the cusp of revelation.

Butler is best known for his musical Rags Parkland Sings The Songs Of The Future, which won the 2019 Lortel Award for Outstanding Musical, was a New York Times and Time Out NY Critics Pick, and garnered Butler five Drama Desk nominations (Book, Music, Lyrics, Musical, and Actor in a Musical). The Times named it the best new musical of 2018, lauding Butler's work to “update the formal expressiveness of song as narrative.” The show will return to Off-Broadway in the spring of 2023, and the original cast album, released by Broadway Records, is available on all streaming platforms.
