May 30th, 2023 10pm Stage 1
Annie Bartholomew is an Alaskan folksinger and clawhammer banjo player from Juneau. Her debut album, Sisters of White Chapel, shares the stories of Victorian sex workers during the Klondike Gold Rush in Alaska and Yukon Territory. Through historic source material and modern songwriting forms, Sisters of White Chapel brings to light the lesser known histories of women who came North. Annie will be accompanied by Anchorage songwriter Kat Moore of The Forest That Never Sleeps.
