Ariel Arbisser
Whether on stage, in the studio, or working with students, singer/songwriter Ariel Arbisser leads with empathy. Her performances simultaneously make you feel seen, heard, and offer a glimpse into how she experiences the highs and lows of the world. Through her lens as a white, Jewish, queer woman, she is transparent when learning out loud and participates in ongoing conversations about mental health, body neutrality, sex positivity, social and racial justice, LGBTQ rights, and more. In a world that's dangerous for far too many and uncomfortable for almost everyone, she creates a touchstone by creating art, appreciating simple pleasures, and taking dedicated and intentional risks for love.
Over the past few years, Ariel focused on her solo projects. After writing and workshopping some of her own pieces, recording for her debut solo album took place in 2018. Ariel teased Ithaca audiences since that time with her own music - with full bands and during stripped down sets at smaller venues. After a hiatus in the project, in early 2021 Ariel picked up the pieces and set sights on the finish line. Her mainstream debut album "Risk of Love" dropped in October 2021.
