Ásta

The Icelandic musician Ásta has a background in classical music, having played the viola since she was three years old. She has performed as a soloist with Iceland Symphony Orchestra and holds a BA-degree in viola playing from The Royal Danish Academy of Music. After graduating, she started singing and writing her own music, which has been described as poetic and folkish with a hint of Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez. Ásta was awarded 3rd place at 2019 Icelandic Music Experiments, as well as receiving The Best Lyrics award.

According to Morgunblaðið's critic, "...Ásta is able to change the world. She makes time stand still and takes everyone into her beautiful world -- even the most hardcore ones."
