William Pearson was born and raised in New York, in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains. Surrounded by the rich musical history of Woodstock, he became fascinated with the guitar at an early age. His search for a deeper understanding of the instrument eventually led him to New York City where he studied the art of Classical Guitar and earned his degree at Hunter College.
While playing with a number of local acts, he co-founded the group, “Scruffy Pearls” which allowed him to play festivals like Mountain Jam and tour, opening for Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real.
William has also toured frequently with Kevin Daniel and more recently, Diana Demuth, opening for artists such as The Lumineers, Mt. Joy, Charlie Crocket, and Keller Williams.
As life changed throughout the pandemic, William found reconnecting with nature after ten years of city life to be incredibly valuable.
His upcoming debut album, “Up on the Hill,” is a combination of his favorite classical repertoire, original compositions, and the sounds of nature captured while on tour in different parts of the country.
The album is meant to provide an escape from the cold or the hustle and bustle of the city. A meditation through music that connects the listener back to their roots and Mother Earth.
William currently splits his time between New York City and The Hudson Valley where he grew up.
