Border House

Border House is a an indie rock band that weaves together sincere folk songwriting with rock, free jazz influences, and experimental electronics. Formed by producer and songwriter Daniel Markus, the band comprises a talented ensemble of musicians: Henry Nelson (guitar), Will Curry (clarinet, synthesizers), Liam Hastings (bass), and Griffin Jennings (drums).

The story of Border House traces back to their time at Oberlin College, where where all 5 members studied jazz and experimental music. Markus, Curry, and Nelson initially collaborate on the recording of Nelson's album, "Whaling Town," in 2019, which laid the groundwork for a lasting musical partnership. With the additions of longtime collaborators Hastings and Jennings (The World All Around; Awksymoron), the band felt complete. Drawing from their diverse backgrounds and love for music that defies categorization, the band pushes boundaries and blurs the lines between genres, leaving an indelible mark on listeners along the way.
