I am a self-produced artist who can play more than a dozen different musical instruments. I began singing at the age of three and have perfect pitch. My songwriting began at 12 and during my teen years, I sang lead for my own Pop group before venturing into solo territory. It was at this time that I began to see my artistic growth by working with Russian maestro Misha Shufutinsky, and playing with two well-known artists in Japan: legendary trumpeter Terumasa Hino, and his son, Kenji Hino who was my bass player. For a brief time at Queens College, I studied Music Composition and Orchestration with the renowned Classical/Opera composer, Thea Musgrave. My debut album, "Castle of Dreams," was released in 2000 and was engineered by Dave Fisher, who worked on various commercial releases including Lou Reed's "Ecstasy" CD. My 2006 album, Dreamwalk, included guest violinist Lorenza Ponce, who has played with Sheryl Crow and Bon Jovi. Upon the release of "Dreamwalk," I was chosen to be a performer in the Songwriters Hall of Fame showcase for unsigned artists and received coverage from Billboard magazine. In 2010, I also appeared as a featured artist on Dublin public radio. Later, I released the EP "The Raven Trail," which is based on a novella I wrote. Two other CDs, "Tales from Worldhaven," and "The Byron Taylor Songbook," followed. With my latest CD, "Time is the River," I continue my musical journey of going down the path of quality, not trends.
