As of June 16, 2021, New York State has lifted all COVID-19 related restrictions that apply to a venue of Rockwood’s size. In accordance with these revised guidelines, vaccination records will no longer be checked and entry will be permitted for both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals. Social distancing and masks will not be required, although masks will remain recommended for non-vaccinated individuals.
Chris Morrissey
Chris Morrissey is a songwriter, a bassist, a singer, a music director, a leo, an uncle, a lover of most cats and some dogs, a New Yorker, a Minnesotan, a yoga practicer, a wino, a restaurant frequenter, and joke teller/appreciator. As a bassist, he's logged hundreds of thousands of miles touring five continents with the Jim Campilongo Trio, Mark Guiliana Jazz Quartet, Beat Music, Dave King Trucking Company, Sara Bareilles, Chris Thile’s “Live From Here” house band, Margaret Glaspy, Boy George, Ben Kweller, Andrew Bird, Mason Jennings, Gretchen Parlato, Trixie Whitley, Gabriel Kahane, and Amy Helm.
As a music director, he assembled bands, arranged and rehearsed repertoire for tour and TV for Sara Bareilles (on her Album of the Year Grammy nominated “The Blessed Unrest” tours), Sharon Van Etten (Remind Me Tomorrow tours), Trixie Whitley (Porta Bohemica tours), and Elle King (Shake The Spirit tours).
As a composer and band leader, Mr. Morrissey has released four records to high praise: "Laughing and Laughing” (2018), "The Morning World" (2009, Sunnyside), "Cannon Falls Forever" (2011, self release) and "North Hero" (2013, Sunnyside). His 5th record is forthcoming on Edition Records in July 2021, titled “Impact Winter Formal”.
He has been featured in Bass Player Magazine, is a member of the adjunct faculty at The New School For Jazz and Contemporary Music and has received commissions from The Jazz Gallery and The Jazz Coalition. Chris lives between a park and a cemetery in Brooklyn, New York.
Conor Rayne
Conor Rayne is a New York based drummer, composer and producer. Conor is one half of the GRAMMY Award winning duo Brasstracks, who picked up the accolade for producing Chance The Rapper's "No Problem". In addition to their original material and work with Chance, Brasstracks has collaborated with a growing list of acclaimed artists including: Anderson Paak; Khalid; GoldLink and Robert Glasper. They have toured extensively with Lido; Jack Garratt; Griz; Big Gigantic and head out their debut headline North American tour this spring.
Conor sat behind a kit for the first time when he was six years old. Years of formal lessons soon followed with a group of NY/NJ-based drummers including: Mark Guiliana, Billy Hart, Jeff Hirshfield. Conor later attended Manhattan School of Music where he studied with John Riley and met Brasstracks partner, Ivan Jackson.
Aside from his work with Brasstracks, Conor can also be heard playing drums on the heralded singer Kate Davis' upcoming release as well as performing live with renowned bassist Chris Morrissey.
Rich Hinman
Composer, guitarist and pedal steel player Rich Hinman writes music that’s both sweet and sorrowful. He’s toured and/or recorded with kd lang, Sara Bareilles, Rosanne Cash, St. Vincent, The Milk Carton Kids, Tanya Tucker and many others. He’s the co-leader of Los Angeles’s Rich Hinman vs Adam Levy with whom he released the record “VS” in 2019. He also released the solo record “Glacier” in 2014.
