David Alan Thornton

As a writer, David Alan Thornton has been called "too open-minded for the Midwest and too open-hearted for New York." As a performer, his "soulful vocal stylings compliment confessional lyrics that border on literary greatness."

DAT moved to NYC in 2010 to be part of the BMI Lehman Engel Music Theatre Workshop. He has since written and produced the "David Alan Thornton Versus" cabaret series, composed six songs for Bill Coyne's "Muse Match" project, and presented his original musical "Little Bitters". His music has been performed at the Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall, 54 Below, the Laurie Beeckman Theater, Silvana, the Bowery Electric, and Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center.

In 2013, he recorded his first full-length album "Spokedog", after a successful crowdfunding campaign. He followed it with his sophomore project "Lady Monday" in 2015.

“Lady Monday: A Rock Opera” is inspired and built from music from both recordings.

His original play “Fata Morgana” is currently in development.
