Diana Daniels is a singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and occasional filmmaker. She grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area with the ocean, bay, forests and mountains shaping her love of the world around her. She began singing at an early age and trained classically as a Soprano with Peninsula Girls Chorus and St. Paul's Choir School in Burlingame, CA. Since she began playing piano at a young age, Diana has learned a multitude of instruments including clarinet, bass clarinet, tenor saxophone, alto saxophone, soprano saxophone, oboe, english horn, guitar and banjo.
Oboe became her main classical instrument at Amherst College where she played in the Amherst Symphony Orchestra and took lessons at UMass Amherst with Professor Fred Cohen and Kirsten Lipkins at Amherst. She mainly plays alto saxophone now with Brooklyn-based band Boys Go to Jupiter.
Diana also plays guitar and banjo along with singing and songwriting. She has a deep love for folk and folk rock music, especially from the sixties and seventies. Some of her songwriting influences include Joan Baez, Leith Ross, Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt, Heart, Dodie and many others. Stay tuned for a new music release soon...
