Domingo Lemus is a Guatemalan eclectic Singer-Songwriter and filmmaker based in NYC. Founder and composer for the band La Gran Calabaza, Latin fusion rock with ska beats; and La DinaMita, an electro duo, playing acoustic punk and electronic cumbia. His first solo album Canciones De Domingo is an easy-listening record of soft rock blues and folk rock, with profound lyrics about exile, post-war, and a disenchanted generation.
He plays the lead Joel Fonseca in the Guatemalan comedy cult feature film Puro Mula, which became the most iconic character in Guatemalan Cinema, with more than 7.5 million views on YouTube. Thanks to the success of this film, he has starred in 4 more feature films in which he’s also collaborated as a music composer.
His most recent single Solecito was a semifinalist in the International Songwriters Competition #ISC2020SEMIFINALIST.
Currently, he is touring in the USA with his band, Argentinians Franco Vittore on the lead Guitar, Ignacio Rivas-Bixio on drums, and Colombian Carlos Pino on the bass. They are playing some of his iconic songs with acoustic guitar, harmonica, and charango, bringing humor, Latin Folk Rock, and Cumbia to his audience.
