Elise Petersen
Funky, jazzy, and soulful. Elise Petersen is a 23-year-old singer/songwriter based in Brooklyn, NY. Elise’s philosophy on the voice is to respect her voice as an instrument. Her use of color, tone, and impressive range is due to study and love of her inspirations, Ella Fitzgerald, Leanne La Havas, Jacob Collier, and Nai Palm. Her writing features engaging melodies and dynamic rhythms. She has collaborated with artists such as Corrina Gill, Bridey Costello and Sam Salisbury.
Elise is not only a great solo performer, but an outstanding collaborator. She feeds off the creative energy of those around her. Her favorite place to do this is with her band, The PitchPockets, a funk/soul band based in Nashville. They recently released their debut EP called “Pool Party” and they gig regularly. Aside from the PitchPockets, she also really enjoys writing and performing jazz, folk, pop, and whatever else comes out of her. Apart from music, her other creative outlet is cooking and baking and dreaming of her homeland, Minnesota.
