Ethan Beck and Charlie Browns
Ethan Beck and The Charlie Browns write songs about watching your friends make big mistakes, the first 20 minutes of a terrible day, and how your hometown is always affecting you. Regularly inspired by 70s power pop and radio rock, The Charlie Browns look to everything––doowop, Liz Phair, Al Green, Pittsburgh emo, Linda Ronstant––to make despondent songs sound as happy as possible. Often, Ethan Beck uses the word "ugh" to describe how the songs are supposed to feel. Lastly, 75% or so of their songs have references to the geography of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the best city.
