Fany de la Chica

Filmmaker and singer based in Harlem and made in Andalusia. Her films have been screened in more than one hundred international film festivals and featured in HollywoodReporter, MovieMaker, CineWoman or Glamour Magazine. She studied the MFA Directing/Screenwriting at Columbia University of New York. During her time studying the master, she suffered depression after her boyfriend broke up with her. She decided to take singing lessons at the jazz department at Columbia and write songs in order to heal the pain. Together with other jazz musicians like Jake Chapman, the indie producer Sahil Ansari, and the DJ Ann Streichman, she produced her first album "Dressed for a Sunday”. The album is influenced by her roots in flamenco and copla infused with jazz, R&B, electronic and indie music. And the album tells her story, like a film.
