Flacco's Bizarre Adventure
Flacco's Bizarre Adventure is a Boston-based quintet under the direction of guitarist & composer Keenan "Flacco" Ruffin. A composer with a penchant for cute, complex, cheeky, and cumbersome musical aesthetics, Ruffin seeks to provide entry points to curious listeners of all backgrounds, while enthusiastically rewarding the audience for the sonic challenges he presents. Blending the entire spectrum of improvisation, Western art music, electronic sound design, extended forms, and songwriting, Flacco and his Bizarre Adventure scale an auditory topography unlike any other. SUGAR ~ SHIT ~ SILK ~ SWEAT exemplifies this ideal to a tee while using the "traditional" jazz quintet format as a springboard for truly uncanny musical explorations that are beyond category.
