A native of Asheville, North Carolina, Jason Reischel has been a fixture on the New York music scene since 2004, both as a solo artist and as a member of the Indie Rock/ Alt-Country group My Cousin, The Emperor (voted WNYC's Best Band in Brooklyn in 2010!) Jason's music has been compared to Gram Parsons (AOL Music), Wilco, Uncle Tupelo, and the Jayhawks (Power of Pop), Bob Dylan and The Band's Basement Tapes (Metro Pulse), Roy Orbison and Chris Isaak (Brooklyn Rocks), as well as Elliot Smith, Tim Buckley, Paul Simon, and Townes Van Zandt. His latest solo release, "The Terrible Truth" is available on all streaming platforms.
