Kaylor & The Tin Cans

Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Kaylor Otwell was born and bred on the country and blues music of the South, and started writing songs and performing as a young child. Growing up in church choirs, she fell in love with multi-voice harmony - something she still incorporates into her music. She began contributing original songs to theatre productions and other community productions.

Otwell attended Jefferson County Academy of Fine Arts and went on to earn a degree in Theatre and Creative Writing from the University of Alabama.

Post-college she formed her band, The Tin Cans, and began performing her own songs regularly. Her first album "The Tin Cans"was recorded live at 2nd Row Studio and released in 2010. "Hell or High Water," her sophomore EP was published in 2016 - the same year she earned her membership in the Actors Equity Association for musical theatre.

Since relocating to New York City, Otwell has recreated her band with new players, and continues to bring her love of Southern music to the stages in the NYC area.
