Schooled in the lyrical rituals of folk music, Laura Cortese & the Dance Cards (vocals, fiddle, cello, bass/guitar) combine their extensive string music background with bold grooves that inspire rock-n-roll hip swagger. Their edgy pop sensibility elegantly stretches the boundaries of what indie-folk can be. Their newest album, BITTER BETTER, was released on July 17, 2020 on Compass Records and the band is just back from supporting The Mountain Goats on their extended August 2021 US tour.
