Leah Tash may have been born in 1995 and raised in New York City, but her sound can call to mind places long ago and far away. From a young age Leah was drawn to traditional folk and blues music and found solace in artists like The Carter Family, Bessie Smith and Bob Dylan. These influences, along with her passion for rock ‘n’ roll, jazz and country music, dance through her songs and give them weight. The result is a unique style of Americana that Leah can call her own.
Banshee Tree blends a frenzied, earthy dance music from roots in traditional jazz with modern dance, rock, pop, and indie soul. Based in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, they are spreading their vivacious and feral sound across the country.
