Mortet is the fusion-influenced jazz trio of guitarist Michael Hollis(Breakfast in Fur), bassist James O'Keeffe(Vuvuzela, Kiss Kiss), and drummer Michael Kadnar(The Number 12 Looks Like You, Downfall of Gaia, Black Table). The band draws from its members' diverse backgrounds to incorporate elements of hip hop, rock, post-bop, free jazz, and hard-bop into their original compositions and standards. Mortet’s EP is a truly collaborative recording that was recorded almost completely live at Party Smasher Inc., the studio founded by Ben Weinman, guitarist of Dillinger Escape Plan and mixed and mastered by Jamal Ruhe(West West Side Music)
