Praised as “clearly a name to watch” by All About Jazz and first prize winner of the North American Saxophone Alliance Jazz Competition, Nicola Caminiti is a Grammy-nominated and multi-award winning Italian saxophonist, composer and bandleader based in New York City.

Considered one of the leading musical figures among his generation for his intensely creative modern concepts based on interplay and rhythmic mastery, still embracing a sense of musical tradition, He has performed and toured in US (Birdland, The Jazz Gallery, Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola, Aaron Davis Hall, Brooklyn College), Italy (Umbria Jazz, Vicenza Jazz, Veneto Jazz...), Spain (Jamboree, Jimmy Glass, Eivissa Jazz, Gexto Jazz), Germany, Greece, Belgium, Malta and Austria. He has also shared the stage or recorded with Billy Childs, Stefon Harris, Pedrito Martinez - as part of his latest record “Acertijos”, Dayna Stephens, Logan Richardson, Mimi Jones, Luis Perdomo, Arturo O’Farrill and the AfroLatin Jazz Orchestra, Bobby Sanabria and others.

In July 2015, Nicola earned a Master’s degree in Classical Saxophone at the Conservatorio “A.Corelli” in Messina, Italy and, after relocating in NY, in May 2019, he earned a Bachelor’s of Music degree in Jazz Alto Saxophone at Manhattan School of Music as recipient of the prestigious International Advisory Board Scholarship and a Master’s of Music in 2022.
