Nimbu2 was founded by the two German/American musicians/composers Peter Knoll (guitar,
live looping) and Christian Finger on drums in 2022 after performing together more than 10
years in different formations.The two deeply passionate and creative spirits create ambient soundscapes and spontaneous
compositions and take the audience to an exciting sonic journey to their inner self.
Both award winning band members and saxophonist Christopher Braig were nominated for
“Best Composer” at this year’s Cannes Shorts Film Festival for the documentary “Radio Free
Newport (also directed by Christopher Braig). The duo’s debut album has been recorded last February and is in it’s post production stages.

Peter is a world class player, and even better, he has his own unique style and voice. Something that rarely one finds.“ His improvisational playing is truly inspiring!" He has played and recorded with renowned artists like Bassist Mark E. Peterson (Cassandra Wilson, Lyle Lovett, Joan Baez) as well as Percussionists Hahlil (Roberta Flack), Gerardo Velez (Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, Spyro
Gyro), Ted Baker (Steely Dan) and Mike D. (Beastie Boys). Peter is also a sought after guitar teacher and the founder/owner of www.guitarclasses.nyc. Amongst his students were the children of U2 guitarist “The Edge.”

Christian Finger is an award winning and critically acclaimed drummer, composer, and
educator. He has played and recorded with renowned artists such as Lee Konitz, Ron Carter,
Jeff Ballard, Dave Kikoski and Ralf Alessi.
