Over the last near-decade, Phebe Starr has blossomed into one of Australian indie-pop’s defining songwriters; someone who validates and comforts her fans through detailed and personal lyricism, best shown through the three EPs that litter her discography thus far. Within that time, she’s also become one of Australia’s most accomplished, working behind-the-scenes to uplift the next generation of musicians while music of her own becomes applauded by Rolling Stone and soundtracks Samsung Galaxy adverts alike, accumulating millions of streams all as an independent and self-driven artist.

Now, Phebe Starr has her eyes on her biggest accomplishment yet: her debut album. Written in the wake of divorcing the man she married as a 21-year-old, and brought to life with guests including Alister Wright (Cloud Control, VLOSSOM), Xavier Dunn and Japanese Wallpaper, Heavy Metal Flower Petal peels back the layers and explores new territory within Phebe Starr’s being, showing a contrast between the toughness - the ‘heavy metal’ and the softness - the ‘flower petal’ - that exists within her life. “The whole album is about my process of letting myself feel things that I was afraid to,” she says. “It’s about letting myself be tender and vulnerable, learning how to incorporate the feminine into my narrative.”

Over the course of its ten-track duration, Heavy Metal Flower Petal is a powerful masterclass of Phebe Starr’s musical and personal journeys, and an album sure to lift the musician to the highest echelon of Australian homegrown songwriters.

Representing a wave of Australian artists moving to the US, electronic artist and multi-instrumentalist LANKS is a unique and emerging talent, combining his jazz training and experimental approach to pop songwriting to create an emotionally rich and diverse body of work.

After university he played in indie bands before more solo experimentation led to a string of EPs and his first LP, twentyseven, released in early 2018, which has had over 18 million streams and saw him tour with artists such as RÜFÜS DU SOL, Vera Blue, Broods, Glass Animals and RY X.

At the end of 2018 LANKS released a short 3-track EP, Inoue, dedicated to his close friend fighting cancer, and featuring the singles Stronger Than and Spiritual Man. Shortly after he announced an indefinite hiatus from the project and a new direction with collaborative project, Ok Moon, alongside Dustin Tebbutt, Hayden Calnin and Xavier Dunn. They released their self-titled album in August, 2019.
