Rita Castagna

Rita Castagna is a singer-songwriter from Philadelphia. She has sung across the northeast with The American Pops (DC), Prima Theatre (Lancaster), Don't Tell Mama (NYC), and more. With backgrounds in musical theater and jazz, her music and lyrics are story-forward and multi-layered. A lifelong solo acoustic performer, she is slowly building up a full band and a louder, funkier sound to match her large belty voice. Her biggest musical influences are Sammy Rae, Lake Street Dive, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lizzy McAlpine. Equipped with a standup comedian’s combo of humor and sadness, her music reflects her oscillation between resilient joy and cancerian melancholy. Rita is currently based in Astoria and will be releasing original music to streaming platforms in 2023.
