As of June 16, 2021, New York State has lifted all COVID-19 related restrictions that apply to a venue of Rockwood’s size. In accordance with these revised guidelines, vaccination records will no longer be checked, nor will social distancing or masks be required, while masks will remain highly recommended for non-vaccinated individuals.
Shayfer James
In honor of Juneteenth, Shayfer will be donating 50% of his ticket share from this show to Black Girls Code.
Shayfer James is an internationally touring songwriter, theatrical/film composer and performer.
In 2020, he signed with Kobalt Music Publishing and his theatrical tinged swaggering music has been capturing the hearts and imaginations of an increasingly devoted fan base around the world. His music has been streamed over 18 million times across 136 countries in the last year.
Shayfer has independently released six original LPs/EPs and has performed his music at music festivals and events in New Orleans, NYC, Miami, Austin, Hong Kong, Iceland and London. Shayfer has also composed the film score and original songs for films such as Mickey Keating's Offseason (Shudder 2022), Jenn Wexler's The Ranger (Shudder) and Keating's Psychopaths (Samuel Goldwyn) which have premiered at SXSW and Tribeca Film Festivals.
A rock operetta, The Ninth Hour, he co-created and performs with Kate Douglas premiered at The Met LiveArts, NYC in 2019 and an EP of highlights from the show will be released in late summer/early fall 2021.
