Sidney Bird
Sidney Bird is a southwestern darling making a name for herself in Brooklyn. Born and raised in Arizona, Bird holds her own in the scene of western pop artists like Kacey Musgraves and Leon Bridges. A true crossover act, Bird feels a strong creative impulse when home in Arizona, writing all of her songs there before fleshing them out with producers in Brooklyn. “I grew up listening to Barenaked Ladies, Norah Jones, Joni Mitchell,” says Bird. “Then became obsessed with Katy Perry, Britney Spears––all the popstars.” Bird’s background in comedy and musical theater fuels a deep love for world-building and storytelling: “Sometimes I feel like I’m playing characters through my music, using them as a vehicle to express honest and genuine feelings.” Her 2020 debut album “Bad Timing,” featuring singles like “Kisses” and “Wild,” has garnered over 1.7 million streams on Spotify to date. In 2021, Bird followed up with her EP “Big Heart,” debuting the project live at Rockwood Music Hall at the end of the year. With a wealth of music ready for release and a dedicated community of listeners, Bird is well-positioned to make 2022 her year.
Kailie Simpson
Wielding a rafter-reaching voice, raw delivery, and a really sharp pen, Kailie Simpson instantly warrants attention.
The New Jersey-born singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist sings from the heart and writes straight from the gut. She pulls no punches and holds nothing back as she unabashedly infuses rock ‘n’ roll with spirit, soul, and style. After selling out shows throughout the New York area and attracting the likes of producer Ben Rice [Norah Jones, The Jezabels, Daughter] to her corner, she introduces herself with a bang on a series of independent singles in 2022.
The first single “Question Everything” practically overflows with energy. Gritty verses give way to a soaring refrain ignited by distorted guitar and a stadium-size beat. She urges, “Question everything ‘cause what you see ain’t what you get.”
“The curtain has fallen and many questions have been raised. Recently we’ve all been in a state of confusion and uncertainty. The division is presented to run deep but I believe we are more alike than we’d like to admit. Question Everything is an invitation to be open minded - cross boundaries- challenge your comfort zones. A call to action, an anthem for the masses”
With such urgency and honesty, Kailie’s music might just make you feel something too.
“Im longing to exchange passionate energy. To allow people to dig deep and feel again, collectively feeding off the music and energy. Becoming electrified. Allowing the music to speak for itself and inviting listeners to let loose and feel it with everything they got.”
