Solange Prat
Solange Prat, was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina; where she studied music, dance and theater. Solange has experience as an actress, appearing in Argentine television, as well as productions of such musicals as Hairspray and Rent. As a trained as a vocalist in jazz, blues, soul, R&B, Latin and contemporary music, she has performed and toured internationally with renown artists such as Joan Baez, Eva Ayllon, Leon Gieco and Leo Genovese, among others. As a songwriter, early on she started her band and recorded her first solo album: Voy
In 2010 she moved to New York City, where she lived several years, establishing herself as one of the main Latin voices in the New York scene as the front woman of the 11-piece Williamsburg Salsa Orchestra, which released its eponymous debut album in 2011 and their second one, named DIALECTICA.
In 2017, Solange released her single "Doce Años", featuring the all female Mariachi and Latin Grammy winners, Flor de Toloache. The track was produced by Costa Rican producer Felipe Fournier.
As a songwriter, she draws from an eclectic range of influences: Argentine folk, soul, funk, R&B and bossa nova among other genres. She is currently launching her EP, Loop, that features several artists such as: the Argentine renown songwriter Kevin Johansen, the Latin Grammy winner Venezuelan cuatro player Jorge Glem and the prestigious argentine bass player Andres Rotmistrovsky.
