Sophie Colette
SOPHIE COLETTE is a Brooklyn, New York-based indie pop artist.
Initially arriving in New York City to pursue fashion design, Colette pivoted her ambitions to music after being scouted at a high school reunion by the bassist of former indie rock darlings, The Party Faithful. A month later Colette performed and toured with the band on keys, synth, and vocals, during which she met producer Ben Rice of Degraw Sound in Brooklyn, NY. She later presented Rice with stacks of sketchbooks filled with lyrics and visual palettes, bringing her solo project to the fore.
Colette’s latest single release “Version” premiered in 2019 on Asymmetric Magazine, and has been compared to Tangerine Dream for its “gently pulsing, down-tempo atmosphere.” (Sound Thread Music Blog). Her live debut at New York City’s Rockwood Music Hall cemented “Version” as “Colette’s most stunning work to date.” (glamglare). “Run Around” released in late 2018 was praised by Emerging Indie Bands for being intimate, melancholic, and emotional with poignantly layered electronics and vocals. Her previous release “That Kind Of Love” premiered on CelebMix who described the track as a “truly mesmerising sound” and was selected as the exclusive soundtrack for media platform ULTRA.
