“a Southern-psych dreamland, bottling up ghosts and bringing them to life through her ethereal hymns." - Huffington Post
"Meet the woman with the most world-weary voice in music: She's most assuredly creating the soundtrack to whatever becomes the next The Craft or Natural Born Killers — a little bit industrial grime, a little bit shoegaze, a little bit dark af - Refinery29
"It’s rare that a song strikes so perfect a balance between foreboding and sensual, but Thayer Sarrano gets it just right. It’s not even that Sarrano is dark so much as that she seems to have an instinctive ability to spin everyday emotions into potent vignettes of an unsettled soul. It’s powerful, relatable and anything but shaky.” - Paste Magazine
"Sarrano can morph from angel to devil in the same song. The looming atmosphere of dread and submission conjured turns over a new page in Southern Gothic storytelling" —
"One part shoegaze, another couple parts Southern gothic, a dash of folk, some classic country, and whatever else she pleases, Thayer Sarrano has emerged this spring with a new record. Wings Alleluia is the album that every singer/songwriter strives for, but rarely hits. Definitely a “lights off” affair, but Sarrrano isn’t unleashing a darkness to swallow you whole. Instead, she reaches out to the listener with hope. She isn’t just a musician, she is a guide..” -News Whistle
" The follow-up to 2015's Shaky, Wings Alleluia displays the layered tapestry Thayer musically weaves, while her otherworldly vocals soar above guitar-led meditations, creating an album that exists on an almost transcendental level, a mindset that she subscribes to. Deeply poetic and musically pastoral, her fourth album is an exploration of textures and melodies reinforcing the title that Americana UK bestowed upon her as ‘The New Queen of Shoegaze.’
Since 2009, Thayer has released four LPs, a live Ep with string ensemble, and several singles. She has toured heavily, headlining tours in the US and Europe, as well as supporting Drive-By Truckers, Television, Robyn Hitchcock, Cracker, Camper Van Beethoven, and more. Her songs have been featured on network television, in museums, and have won music video awards. She has collaborated with numerous artists as a composer, producer/session player and has released art books related to her lyrics. Her latest Lp, "Ancient Future" is set for release this winter." WEISSHUND is a rock 'n' roll duo that originated in 2014 during a raucous all-night whiskey-fueled jam session. Rick Lollar (vocals, guitar) and Marlon Patton (drums and Moog bass pedals) perform with reckless abandon, generating an enormous full-band sound composed of propulsive riffs, psychedelic grooves, and earworm melodies.
Lollar and Patton both began playing music at a young age and later formally studied music. With WEISSHUND, the duo fuses their formal training and technicality with the raw, visceral power embodied by their earliest musical influences, which include John Bonham and Jimi Hendrix.
