The City Limit
The City Limit is an American blues/pop band based out of Sussex County, New Jersey, consisting of singer and guitarist Scott Lewis, bassist Anthony Ambrosio, drummer Sean Farrelly, and keyboardist Mike Casson. The band formed when Lewis's previous band and Ambrosio's previous band happened to both break up at roughly the same time. The two, who were already friends from sharing a studio together, quickly started writing music together. Not long after, Farrelly and Casson would join, which rounded out The City Limit's current lineup.
Drawing heavily during their performances on influences ranging from legendary bluesmen like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King, Robert Cray, Buddy Guy, and Freddie King, to American and English/Irish rock and roll bands such as Pink Floyd, the Who, the Beatles, Oasis, the Grateful Dead, Nine Inch Nails, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, My Bloody Valentine, the Pixies, and the Stone Roses, while also taking inspiration in their songwriting from eclectic pop artists like Michael Jackson, Daft Punk, Phoenix, Bruce Springsteen, the National, and Paul Simon, the City Limit manage to cultivate a unique sound that incorporates musical flavors from across a broad spectrum of styles.
