Zemog
With his group Zemog El Gallo Bueno, Abraham Gomez-Delgado has been creating alternative, wild and at moments even psychedelic music that he has blended with traditional rhythms that he has always loved and respected. The music is charged with a loving intensity as you flow into what feels like a dream with new colors. Gomez-Delgado is of Puerto Rican and Peruvian descent, moved from Puerto Rico to the North East as a seven year old. His music, like him, has roots in Puerto Rican and Afro Cuban traditional rhythms; but the branches have grown into many directions, drinking in the infinite musical inspirations of past and present. Observing the culture and politics and having something to say about it, with hopes of bringing healing, pleading you to dance with it all. What started many years ago as a trio, grew into a big band of six to eleven members at some performances. There is a glory in simplicity and a holiness to complexity. Each trio combination and the big band speaks a different dialect of the same language
